SAFe® Executive Workshop

The SAFe® Executive Workshop (the Workshop) goal is to help senior leaders and stakeholders gain an understanding of what it means to become a Lean Agile Enterprise and implement Business Agility, together with a high level understanding of the Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe®), how SAFe® can help solve organisational challenges, and provide the roadmap and structure for this journey. Outcomes you can expect include:

  • Building a shared understanding of your ‘why’, your needs, issues and reasons for wanting to embark on the Lean-Agile journey,

  • Coming to a common understanding of the Lean-Agile mindset and its competencies,

  • Exploring the ways in which Agile practices differ from current practices,

  • Identify actions and start building your roadmap.

We customise the workshop to your team’s needs. The typical high level structure and content of the Workshop can be summarised as follows:

Part 1: FUTURE STATE WITH BUSINESS AGILITY

  • We explore our why: we brainstorm pains, problems, or issues that Lean- Agile practices could help address, and the benefits that the organization is looking to achieve.

  • If applicable, we review the results of your Agile Assessment with the aim of determining how each of the recommendations applies to your organization.

Part 2: AGILE MINDSET, PRINCIPLES, AND PRACTICES

  • We build a common understanding around Business Agility and the Scaled Agile Framework, and begin discussing Leaders' role in embracing the Agile mindset and implementing each practice.

  • Among the topics discussed there will be: Why Agile?, Agile Mindset, Becoming Agile. We walk through the 7 Competencies of Business Agility to provide a good idea of the scope, structure and intent of the SAFe framework.

Part 3: PLANNING AND NEXT STEPS

  • We focus on action planning over an immediate (2 weeks) – short (2 months)  and medium (6 months) term horizon to identify and agree actions for the team to move forward on this journey.

  • We discuss applicability and feasibility of the identified actions and start drawing a roadmap together with the team.

  • During the workshop we balance time for explanation / discussion / questions. We also offer follow up on questions that remained open or not fully answered during the workshop.
